Our Legacy
HANDCRAFTED EXCELLENCE HANDED DOWN
Born and raised in Roseto Valfortore, Italy, our grandfather apprenticed in the local blacksmith shop from the age of 7.
Founding History
A Calling for Three Generations.
It was 1945 when our grandfather, Michael Finelli, stepped foot onto Ellis Island. Just 18 years young, he was asked all the usual questions by the immigration agent. When it came to occupation, he answered with certitude: “Blacksmith.” The truth is, occupation wasn’t really the right term because, to Michael, it was a calling.
Just a few years after immigrating to the U.S., Michael opened his own blacksmith shop in Bedford, Ohio. What started out as one man with a two-car garage is now a 40,000 sq. ft. iron and wood shop with 16 employees. Since 1987, the business has been under the watchful eyes and in the skillful hands of his two sons who continued the Finelli family legacy.
Today, a third generation has stepped up to carry on in our founder’s footsteps, fashioning an enduring skill and art form for the modern world. Many in our line of work are called master craftsmen, but few have inherited the kind of learnings that have been passed down from one Finelli generation to another.
Every day, through every phase of every project, it’s not just customer satisfaction that’s on the line; it’s our name, too. The Finelli emblem ensures that everyone who dreams in iron…everyone who trusts in that handshake deal…and everyone who needs a helping hand will have their expectations exceeded.
